forget NYE, what are your January 2nd plans?

If you didn't get BYT tickets before they sold out haven't figured out what you're doing for New Year's Eve yet, well.. you're out of luck (actually I'll be making a post later about fun last minute NYE ideas, including an event I'm DJing at Vinoteca).

But with all the discussion about NYE, many have overlooked the numerous parties going on this Saturday, January 2nd.  You'll either have to make some tough choices or go for a marathon night.  I vote the latter.

First Up: Homo/Sonic @ The Black Cat
The boys from The New Gay, Zach and Michael, continue their monthly and legendary party Homo/Sonic this Saturday, and will joined by DJ Natty Boom.  Natty Boom is out of the Anthology of Booty DJ Crew and hosts the Backdoor party at the 9:30 Club Backbar.  Homo/Sonic can also boast of being the first queer indie dance party in DC in 2010, although I bet BYT's NYE party will be pretty gay too. Next Up: KIDS @ DC9
A bunch of us gays were at the last Kids party, and we were dancing our faces off.  My girl Lil' El hosts this all 90s Hip Hop party once a month with DJs Steve Starks,  Nacey, and Jackie O.  DC9 is also right next to Nellie's if you need an excuse to stop by Kids.  But just to warn you, you will end up spending most of your night here.

Last Up: CODE @ EFN Lounge

CODE is a Gear, Rubber, Skin, Uniform or Leather Dress Code Party at EFN Lounge (1318 9th St NW).  My boy Shea Van Horn, who does Maison with me as well as Mixtape and Raw, will be DJing January's CODE party.  This party sounds crazy: open bar from 9-10PM plus tons of guys in gear doing demos and shit.  You can also find me DJing here for the Wet & Wild party on January 13th.

holy schnikies i've got a busy DJ schedule this week!

wow- i haven't been this busy DJ'ing since the days of funemployment- but i guess it is Halloween week.  Here's where you can find me playing some jams this week:

Tuesday: Duplex Diner for some after Drag Races fun:  I'll be DJing w/ the Diner's own Kelly (love of my life) so expect some R&B & Hip Hop fun!

Wednesday: Ill Element w/ Lil' El (Kids) at the Science Club (19th and M NW): This is a new weekly party Lil' El does at the Science Club- happy hour all night long, free entry, and great vegetarian food!  We'll be playing whatever we feel like- so from me expect lots of twinky disco- although when then two of us get together we hit the hip hop pretty hard.  RSVP on FB!

Friday: Mischief Night at Duplex Diner: a pre-HALLOWEEN MISCHIEF NIGHT with CASH PRIZES for best (and worst) COSTUMES, lots of talented GUEST DJ's, and much coveted MISS ADAMS MORGAN PAGEANT TIX giveaways.  RSVP on FB.

Saturday: Miss Adams Morgan Pageant After Party (UNOFFICIALLY):  If you're lucky enough to have a MAM ticket- i'm impressed, but regardless you can still come to the final stop of this train wreck at the Duplex Diner.  I'll be DJ'ing here on the late side- you'll die when you see my costume!
